Tivissa and Miravet, Catalunya, January 8th, 2025
The village of Tivissa is one of the most beautiful in the whole of Catalunya, nestled below the La Llena massif to the west of the main link road between Mora d’Ebre and L’Hospitalet d’Enfant. Famous for its vineyards, olives and nuts, January is one of the best times to visit before the tourist chaos begins in earnest in the warmer summer months.
After a brutal morning’s hair cut (thanks Tómas) and a few chores around Riba, I managed to find time for a short drive out and a divine goat’s cheese and pine nut salad with local tomato bread and olives at stunning Miravet, under the gaze of the Knights Templar castle on the banks of the Ebro.
