Antigua, Guatemala, September 8th, 2024

Booked a driver to take me to the city of Antigua for the day.

It’s Sunday and every crazy motorcycle lunatic was weaving in and out of the chaos from Guatemala City to try and beat a crazed smokey bus driver who should have starred in the Fast and Furious series.

Just to add to the mayhem the Acatenango volcano decided to kick off as I arrived in the former Spanish colonial city. Surrounded by active volcanoes, it’s on the UNESCO list and is considered safe from much of the crime that plagues this part of the world.

Then a crazy return ride back to Guatemala City close to the dangerous favela in Mexico.
