US Road Trip 2024 – Day 10

Day 10: Keystone to Denver via Chadron and Brush

A long seven-hour and 400-mile run south from Keystone in South Dakota on the 40 East via Chadron and Alliance in the state of Nebraska.

The route then continued down the famous Gold Rush Scenic Byway (385) across vast hectares of corn fields and grassland through Bridgeport, Gurley and the Great Plains region and the expansive grain fields in part of Tornado Alley.

I then skipped across into Colorado on the 113 and the 76 to avoid tolls and traffic and the final southerly run back to Denver after a late breakfast in Brush.

Hopefully I’ll pop into Mile High City in the morning before dropping her off but the GMC Terrain AWD has done 2,923 miles so far since last Thursday morning.

I left Denver in heavy rain and dense cloud 10 days ago and today it’s 36C, sunny and I can see the Rockies.
