Back-to-back rallies in Europe and the Middle East. Lesson one and I should know better: never check in a soft bag or holdall at T3.

After check-in it has to go through a second scan and passport check in a machine and belt built before Julius Caesar conquered the broken island.

Manned by two absolute jobsworths, the machine broke down three times and needed resetting with a queue of only four in front of me. The last time I waited over an hour, this time it was nearly 40 mins… unbelievable Jeff.

It was a particularly exciting and demanding Vodafone Rally of Portugal this year.

Fog made for a really exciting finish. Tens of thousands of fans out on the stages as always and many thousands of words written… Seb Ogier makes history with a sixth win here.
