A quite day by the pool, a little work and then a stroll down Loi Kroh Road on the eastern side of Chiang Mai.

An area that comes alive after dark, it is lined with street bars (nearly all with pool tables), massage parlours and several eateries. Personally, I found it a bit tacky but the Welcome Inn served an excellent steak pie shipped in from Australia and several of the bars were tolerable for a cold Chang or Singha. It’s also the perfect area to watch Six Nations and the Premier League. I was even invited to star in a Singha promotion.
